Originially named "Bahía de los Pinos" by spanish explorers after its windswept Monterey pines, Monterey Bay is located just south of San Francisco. Famed for its sublime beauty, the area of coastline from Monterey to Big Sur is home to many species of marine mammals, including sea otters, harbor seals, and bottlenose dolphins; as well as being on the migratory path of Gray and Humpback Whales.
This a hand drawn letterpress printed map. The shorelines and coastline of each map are then hand painted with watercolor.
